All settings, widgets, backgrounds, templates, and bookmarks are stored securely in your Browser IndexedDB Database, ensuring that no data ever leaves your device. SabaiStart loads instantly, even offline, and is designed for users who want a clean, customizable, and private dashboard experience.

Mediathek TV Widget – Watch recent German TV programs online worldwide
SabaiStart includes an integrated Mediathek TV widget that provides quick access to recent programs from major German, Austrian, Swiss, French and English public broadcasters. Instead of live TV streams, the widget focuses on official media library content from the last 24 hours, making it easy to catch up on news, documentaries and featured broadcasts directly in your browser.
Browse media libraries from ARD, ZDF, NDR, SWR, BR, WDR, MDR, HR, RBB, KiKA, 3sat, ARD-alpha, ZDFinfo, tagesschau24, Deutsche Welle, ORF, SRF and the international versions of ARTE — all in one compact interface. Most content is accessible worldwide and typically does not require a VPN.
All media remains hosted by the official broadcasters. SabaiStart does not store, redistribute or modify any content. The widget simply provides a convenient, privacy-focused way to discover and access recent public TV programs online — ideal for expats, digital nomads and travelers who want to stay connected to German-language media while abroad.
Internet Radio Widget – Stream 100+ international radio stations online
SabaiStart includes Bodo’s Radio Widget, giving you instant access to more than 100 carefully selected online radio stations from Germany, English-speaking countries and Thailand. Listen to music, news and specialty channels directly in your browser — without registration, without downloads and fully integrated into your personal start page.
The widget is divided into three fully editable categories: German, English and Thai radio. Enjoy popular stations such as WDR 1Live, Bayern 3, Rock Antenne, Radio Bob, Sunshine Live, Klassik Radio, Antenne Bayern, 1.FM, Real Country, Energy 98, 89.3 The Current, Montana Public Radio, Cool Fahrenheit, Green Wave 106.5 FM, Sunshine Radio Pattaya and many more. You can delete existing stations or add your own custom radio stream at any time.
Whether you prefer pop, rock, electronic, jazz, classical music, talk radio or regional news — Bodo’s Radio Widget brings global sound directly to your dashboard. All streams remain hosted by their original broadcasters. SabaiStart does not store or redistribute any audio content, providing a simple and privacy-focused way to discover and enjoy online radio worldwide.

Widget creation
Creating your own widgets for SabaiStart is easy — even with only basic HTML5 knowledge. Because each widget runs entirely in your browser as a small, self-contained HTML page, you can quickly build simple tools, dashboards, or info panels.
There are thousands of free RSS feeds and over a hundred free APIs available online that can be integrated directly into your widget. A great place to discover public APIs for personal use is Public APIs

Here’s how to set SabaiStart as your browser’s homepage

Important: SabaiStart uses a single local IndexedDB database inside your browser. For this reason, you should only open one SabaiStart tab at a time. Having multiple tabs open at once may cause settings or widgets to appear out of sync.
